Halloween isn’t everyone’s cup of potion, but for me it is my favourite festival! It is all about fun, dressing up and scaring away the evil spirits! I don’t find that it is understood by all, and not widely advertised, so I thought I would share both Family friendly 🎃 and adult 👹 events to give you a choice of what you fancy doing!
🎃 In the run up to Halloween you may want to go and Pick your own pumpkin at Malt Kiln Farm shop. This is a beautiful farm shop and cafe which offers both Prepicked and ready to pick, still in the field pumpkins, squashes and ghost pumpkins from now until Halloween! Great fun for little ones.
FarGo Village are offering a couple of events this Halloween, both for families and adults alike.
🎃 First up is the Halloween Family rave, which is offering child friendly music, competitions, and free whistles and glow-sticks. Tickets are available via facebook, and At Dee’s Salon on Gosford Street. £6 per person, under 2s are free. 2-4.30 in The Box on the 27th October.
👹🎃 Also on is Fargo’s Halloween Market on the 26/27 October. It will be filled with crafters and makers offing seasonally treats and makes. A wonderful place to browse and pick up some special sweet treats and decorations
👹 Also at Fargo is Backhaus & co, who are offering a showing of The Lost Boys on the 27th October. Costumes are encouraged, and fun starts at 7pm. Various ticket options available. Good quality food, drinks and fun.
👹 One of my favourite companies, Lush, is doing “A Night of misrule” on the 25th between 6.30 and 8.30pm at their Coventry branch, in the Lower Pricinct. They will be showing for their Halloween goodies, and you have a chance at making a bath bomb (Lord of Misrule) and the first 10 people get their bomb for free!
👹 Fancy a fancy dress party in a beautiful pub? Head to the Brickmakers Arms in Berkswell on the 27th at 8pm for their Halloween party. You won’t be disappointed.
👹🎃 Kenilworth castle are offering family friendly fright nights between 6-7.30 on the 25-27th October, and 7.30-10pm, the fear factor is kicked up a notch! tickets need to be booked in advance.
Prepare for a scare with a half-term monster hunt for your little horrors! Join the Victorian Investigators for a paranormal quest around Kenilworth’s creepy castle. Enjoy bone-chilling tales, set off on a quest to defeat Victorian critters, and pick up some handy tips on how to handle some most unpleasant creatures.
Lively imaginations and sense of adventure are a must for this frightfully good family day out! And don’t forget to dress to impress in the daily fancy dress competition, with prizes for all entrants.
Tickets will be available to purchase at the castle on the day.
👹Coventry watch museum is offering an After Dark talk. Learn about the last known resident, who resides there now and the tales of the last three remaining cottages. Not suitable for under 10. Adult tickets cost £10, and the event is happening on the 7th and 31st October.
👹 If you fancy a full-on night out, why not head to JJ’s who are offering two events. The first being Twisted Circus on the 26th, and the second on the 31st which celebrates Mexican Day of The Dead. Both are for over 18s only.
👹🌈 Glamorous is also offering two nights of fun with their Halloween Spooktacular. Don your campest/scariest/most fabulous costumes, and you could be in with a chance for £100 prize for best dressed! On the 27/31st, the party is on till 6am if you want to party all night!
👹 One of my favourite bars in the city, Samoan Joes, is doing a Day of the dead Weekender. Free entry, 241 cocktails 8 TIL 10pm, and a chance to win a pumpkin full of Cocktails! Open till 2am, it’s always a fun party!
👹 For those with a bigger budget, Coombe Abbey Hotel is offering a Halloween Banquet on the 25/26/27 October. Tickets cost £45, but hurry, this events sells out!
👹 The Herbert Art Gallery have organised a Nightmare and Nibbles night over at the Old Grammar School. Happening on the 26/27/31st, this is an immersive theatrical and dining experience (which is totally vegan disputes how it looks!) Tickets need to be booked in advance, and cost £25 which includes a large glass of wine. the Herbert is also offering a horror-filled film night on the 28th if that is more your thing.
👹🎃 Warwick castle offer a season of spooky events. Both ones for all the family, and late night events for the brave at heart. The Haunted castle starts on the 20th October, and runs all the way through till the 4th November.
